Last summer I had the honor to be named one of Atlanta’s “Most Eligible Singles” by Jezebel Magazine. As part of the event, I agreed to auction off a “date”, with the proceeds benefiting the Make a Wish Foundation. A friend named Michael Orcutt was kind enough to bid on me, and last week we finally went on the date! Since he owns Dominos Pizza franchises, we decided our evening together[…]
Check out me and my canine companion, Charley! This pic was snapped as we strutted our stuff for “Doggies on the Catwalk” Friday night at Grady Highschool. Charley’s family let me borrow the blond bomshell for the night. She and I are wearing matching gowns made by Grady Highschool senior, Taylor Fulton. In all, the evening raised more than two thousand dollars for an organization called Pets Are Loving Support. Also[…]
Watching today’s historic ceremony, I had to smile when I noticed what Michelle Obama’s brother was wearing. Craig Robinson is the men’s basketball coach at Oregon State University, so when he introduced his sister at the Democratic Convention, he chose a neck tie in the school’s color, orange. (See attatched picture). Today he was sporting a scarf, again, supporting OSU in their colors of orange and black. Made me smile and think[…]
Rob and I worked together years ago in Portland. This January we’ll be teaming up with some furry friends for “Doggies On The Catwalk”. The design students from Grady Highschool will provide the fashion for us — and matching outfits for our dogs! Friday, January 16th at Grady Highschool.
I met Kevin on a planning committee for the Dallas Austin Foundation. Our meeting was at the restaurant Ten Degrees in Buckhead, so afterward a group of us stayed to socialize. Kevin is a very recognizable man. At seven feet tall he towers over anyone else in the room, and, in addition to playing for the Hawks for nearly ten[…]
I met Rocco on stage at a cooking demonstration for Taste of Atlanta. Ever heard the expression “A watched pot never boils”? We sure proved that! The hunky chef planned to make a pasta recipe, but once he got on stage, he realized the five quart pot was still stone cold. I was just supposed to introduce him, but he quickly recruited me to[…]
Ivanka Trump I met Ivanka Trump at a party for Trump Towers Atlanta. She’d leant some of us jewelry from a collection she’d designed, so we did a quick interview to show it off. The party was loud, and it took a minute to get all the women in place, so in dealing with all of that, I really didn’t have a chance[…]
Ted Turner I met Ted Turner at the Taste of the Nation event to benefit Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in America. We were surrounded by amazing food put out by the city’s top 50 chefs, but because he was the honorary chair of the event, Ted had been doing back to back media interviews. Just when I thought it was my turn,[…]
Ludacris I met Ludacris at the opening of his new restaurant, “Straits” in Midtown. He’d been traveling, so he was seeing the final decoration of the restaurant right a long with the rest of us. He was so excited! I asked him what instruction he gave the designers and he said “It’s gotta be sexy”. I love that he’s not afraid to[…]
